LA CALETTA It is situated in one of the most beautiful places in Pantelleria island with regard to the landscape. Easily accessible from the perimetric road that leads there from the chief town, the ancient Caletta's "dammuso" overlooks a rocky peak facing Kajar's nature reserve, where the vegetation of mediterranean bush grows on ancient lava flow that shaped the characteristic monoliths and gave the island the name of “black pearl of Mediterranean sea”.
The reserve extends
throught a vast area from the dammuso as far as the sea. The house faces east
and south and from the spacious terrace it is possible to enjoy the peaceful landscape
of the reserve and sea, that is reachable in 15 minutes by foot, following a path
which leads there from the property.The whole house is surrounded by a fencing-wall with one entrance gate on the back. It is very sunny, alcoved with a big double bedroom with batrhroom, and endowded with two smaller dammusi with double bedrooms.  A kitchen, a garden. A very spacious shaded patio and two cisterns to collect
rain water for domestic use. Electric power. Tim’s mobiles receive good signal,
while Vodafone and Wind receive a weaker signal. All the rooms have been recently
renovated and furnished with handcrafted furniture realized with a peculiar technique.On demand we can also look after the organization of your journey and give you advice and suggestions so that you can have your ideal holiday in this little fascinating island. A flight reservation is required and you will need to hire a mean of transport to reach the most beautiful places and the grocer’s shops in Khamma ( about 2 kilometers from the house ) or in Pantelleria town which is 15 kilometers from the house. In the chief town (Pantelleria), you can find everything: supermarkets as well as optic, clothes and gift shops, several restaurants, car, bike and boat hirers, diving centers, banks, a hospital, a cinema and chemist’s. |
